Sad, yes, but also funny, thought-provoking, and surprising ...
Set eight months after the Aberfan Disaster of 1966 in which 144 people were killed; 116 of them children, The Revlon Girl tells the real life story of a group of bereaved mothers who met every week above a local hotel to talk, cry and even laugh without feeling guilty.
One evening they decide to invite a “Revlon Girl” from Bristol, in the hopes that her mobile makeup trolley might help them to feel a bit more human. What follows is an hour of outbursts, laughter, debates and
thoughts about what it means to go on existing after such a disaster.
